The Michigan Skeptics Association is hosting their End of the World Party on Saturday, May 21st at 4:00 PM. We’ve had to change from our usual venue to Station 885 because of the large turnout we’re expecting!

Some of the problem is people reading headlines and assuming they mean one thing, then to actually read the content of the article and find it is not as it seems. “U.S. Greenhouse Gases Drop to 15-Year Low” This was clearly a misleading Headline.

Veterinary Acupuncture: Name That Logical Fallacy

I have wanted to post a commentary ever since I’ve been seeing ads in the Ann Arbor Observer advertising acupuncture for pets by non-veterinarians. Recently, AnnArbor.com has hosted a couple pieces on acupuncture for pets including one from Lorrie Shaw and Dr. Taryn Clark and Dr. Jessica Franklin, two local veterinarians. The piece by Dr. Clark and Dr. Franklin will do nicely for deconstruction and a game of name that logical fallacy.
